NICE is a 501(c)(3) (not-for-profit) established in 2010 in order to support the ministry of Northeast India Baptist Bible College (NEIBBC) and its affiliated ministries in Assam, India. NEIBBC was founded by Baptist Mid-Mission missionaries who went to Assam in 1935.
In the 1960’s, the Indian government implemented a policy of both restricting the entry of new missionaries and the renewal of visas for existing missionaries. The missionary force gradually declined, and by the early 1980’s, all missionaries had been required to leave the Assam region of India. Ministries were handed over to national Christians, and it is our aim to partner with these national Christian leaders to see that the ministries continue to thrive.
