Dr. Ahmed was saved from a Muslim background in 1976. His father came to the Lord in the early 1950’s through the Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries. Dr. Ahmed has seven brothers and sisters, and all but one serve God in ministry.
Dr. Ahmed was trained as a scientist and holds a PhD in Chemistry from a prestigious research institute in India. He worked at the University of Helsinki in Finland, and later, as a scientist in India. However, in his heart, he always wanted to return to his home to serve God and be a witness among the Muslim people from whom he and his family members were saved.
That door was opened in 1996, when Northeast India Baptist Bible College needed a president.
The ministry has expanded under Dr. Ahmed’s leadership to include a campus outreach to college students attending secular colleges in the area. In 1997, Grace English School was started in Dr. Ahmed’s hometown, on land that his father had dreamed would one day be used for God’s glory.
Dr. Ahmed lives with his wife Suja and son Phillip on the NEIBBC campus. Their daughter Rachel attends St. Stephens College in Delhi, India.
